Cub Scout Advancement

The first badge all Cub Scouts (except Lions) earn, regardless of age, is the Bobcat Badge. After earning the Bobcat Badge, they proceed to work on advancement specific to their age level. As part of these requirements, they must learn the Scout Promise, the Scout Law, and the Cub Scout Motto. More information is available on our Bobcat Rank Page.

Kindergartner’s that join are Lion cubs. The Lion Cub program has exciting indoor and outdoor activities specifically designed for kindergarten age boys and girls and their adult partner. Adult partners (guardians) are there to support and guide, allowing the new Cub Scout to discover risks and rewards under the security of adult supervision. Lion Cubs learn by doing. As they learn and grow, the relationship with their adult partner (guardian) grows as well. At the conclusion of their kindergarten year, the Lion Cub will transition to Tiger Cubs where they will earn the Bobcat badge and continue on to even more exciting and educational adventures through Cub Scouting. More information is available on our Lion Rank Page.

Cub Scouts joining in the First Grade enter the Tiger Cub Program. Tiger Cubs, complete 6 required and 1 elective Adventure to earn the Tiger Cub Badge. Tigers do stuff – lots of stuff – and all with their adult partners. This program is intended to open up the world to inquisitive minds along with the caring guidance of adults. The first steps along the Scout BSA Trail are laid here and every rank advancement through the scouting program builds on the basic activities done as Tigers. More information is available on our Tiger Rank Page.
