First and foremost – we’ve tried to eliminate the chaos from previous years that comes from the mad dash of everyone trying to get their Scouts’ information entered quickly, before classes fill up. To avoid this we will be following a very similar process to last year – which means that all registrations received by December 15 will be treated equally, and we will do our best to assign classes based on each Scout’s prioritized preferences.
Registrations will still be accepted after December 15, but those will be accommodated on an as-available basis.
As you complete the form (please – just ONE entry per Scout), please make sure that all the required fields have been completed, and that all the information is accurate. Please also be sure to enter each Scout’s requested Merit Badges in the preferred order of priority (enter the highest priority merit badge first, then the second-highest priority, etc.). You will be requested to enter five (5) merit badge classes per Scout, although only three (3) will be assigned. Please also don’t submit duplicates, each Merit Badge should only be entered once. (NOTE: Fingerprinting/Dentistry will again be offered this year, so if your Scout signs up for this “two-fer” class, he will earn two merit badges, bringing his total to four).
Once you submit each Scout’s registration, a confirming email will be sent to the address you provide. Please also remember to make payment as soon as possible once you’ve registered. It greatly bogs down the check-in process on the first morning of MBC if we have a lot of non-payments, and could affect whether we are able to accommodate a Scout’s preferred merit badges if classes begin filling up.
As a reminder, payment is $10 per Scout if received by December 15, and $15 after that. Mail or drop off payment to the Longhorn Council office, and please be sure to identify your Scout’s name on your payment, along with a note that it is for the 2019 Lakeview District MB College.
